Feedback Requested on Proposed Statement on Adrenal Insufficiency
Dear CPEG members,
You will recall that a statement co-authored by Dr. Alex Ahmet was circulated for review and was put to a vote on whether CPEG should endorse this statement. The results from the vote are split with approximately half of those who voted supported CPEG endorsement of the statement and the other half were not in favour.
At this point Alex Ahmet is seeking feedback directly from the general membership on the proposed statement and particularly suggestions relating to content areas that members feel needs to be addressed. Please note, Alex is soliciting feedback on content and not on layout, formatting, etc.
The statement is posted on the CPEG website here. All feedback and discussions should be posted on the forum. Please do not email Alex Ahmet directly.
Please post your comments on the forum by September 4th, 2018.
Feedback Requested on CPS Statement on CGM in Schools
A document has been created for the www.diabetesatschool.ca website around the use of CGM at school. There have been multiple iterations through the working group that has included input from educators, MDs and parents. No document is perfect to suit everyone’s needs. The hope is that this is acceptable to most and is in its final draft. If people feel strongly about specific changes, please contact Sarah Lawrence (slawrence@cheo.on.ca) and Beth Cummings (elizabeth.cummings@dal.ca).
You will find 2 documents attached:
- Draft CGM for D@S - information for school personnel and designed to help set expectations around CGM use
- Draft CGM Care Plan - intended to be attached to the Individual Care Plan
Updated Shiny App for Blood Pressure Using AAP 2017 Reference Data
Our colleague has developed a new Shiny app to do both batch and one-at-a-time calculation of BP centiles using the new 2017 AAP reference data. Note that this app will be noticeably slower than the previous NHLBI app, given the intensity of the data processing required to calculate a centile for both systolic and diastolic BP. Also note that Z-scores for SBP and DBP cannot be calculated using AAP reference data, because the quantile regression method used by the AAP does not not assume normal distributions for these measurements.
