Endocrinology 101: Basic Essentials for Pediatric Endocrine Nurses
This web-based learning program has been specifically designed for nurses, by nurses, and provides an overview of basic principles of endocrinology. You will review how hormones play a central role in driving a child’s growth and development and be provided with key nursing considerations for the assessment and treatment of children with various endocrine conditions. Overall, this program will allow you to increase your knowledge and clinical skills to improve the care of pediatric endocrine patients.

Learning Objectives:
- Perform appropriate anthropometrics in order to get accurate and reliable measurements for endocrine patients
- Describe the pathophysiology of major endocrine glands, including the hormones they secrete
- Identify disorders associated with over- and under-production of endocrine hormones in the pediatric population
- Recognize appropriate treatment (including hormone therapies) and nursing considerations for pediatric endocrine disorders
