Invitation to Attend the 5th Annual Canadian Pediatric Bone Health Working Group Meeting!
This year, the 5th Annual Canadian Pediatric Bone Health Working Group Meeting will take place in Winnipeg on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The meeting will take place at The Fort Garry Hotel (LaVerendrye Room). Breakfast, morning refreshments and lunch will be served, and there is no registration fee.
This year's Working Group meeting will include symposium-style talks on hot topics in pediatric bone health, clinical case and original research presentations by attendees, and a fun "bone quiz". Physicians, scientists, trainees and allied health professionals are all welcome to attend! The theme for this year’s event is “An Update on Emerging and Standard-of-Care Therapies for the Treatment of Pediatric Bone Diseases”.
We are pleased to announce that the 2020 Keynote Speaker is Dr. Alison Boyce, Pediatric Endocrinologist and Scientist, the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland (http://www.alisonboycemd.com/). The title of Dr. Boyce’s talk is “Targeting RANKL Inhibition in the Treatment of Pediatric Bone Diseases”. We will also hear updates on emerging therapy for XLH (burosumab, Dr. Jennifer Harrington, Toronto Hospital for Sick Children), and new knowledge about standard-of-care treatment of osteoporosis (bisphosphonates, Dr. Marie-Ève Robinson, CHEO).
The deadline for submission of 300-word interesting cases or original research abstracts for presentation at the meeting has been extended to Friday, December 13, 2019. Authors of abstracts that are selected for 10-minute oral presentations will be notified in early January 2020.
